Climate Levy Change Discount Scheme
In April this year UK businesses became liable for the Climate Change Levy (CCL), a new energy tax that adds about 15% to typical energy bills. Many intensive users of energy are able to join Climate Change Levy Agreements helping mitigate the effects this tax. Under these agreements, business that accept and subsequently meet energy reduction targets will receive an 80% levy discount until the year 2013.

Created by the Chartered Institute of Tax and the ATT this website provides a broad, if basic, overview of the UK tax system. It is designed for students studying GCSE citizenship and includes activity sheets, a link to order videos (for teachers only), fantasy budget 'game' link and other materials. Recntly added is a section for University students who are interested in tax as a career after graduation.
